How To Age Gracefully As A Woman

All women like to age gracefully and look great at all times. Is it possible to age gracefully? I have personally seen many women age gracefully. Both my mother and mother- in- law, who are 75  years still have glowing skin. Also, many of us would have seen women look so good in their old age that we would have wondered what is so special about their skin. In today’s post, we show you How To Age Gracefully As A Woman.

Aging gracefully takes into account the various factors of a person’s lifestyle. If we closely observe their daily lifestyles, we would be able to pick up some basic things that would have helped them to age gracefully.

How To Age Gracefully As A Woman

Let us look at some tips for ageing gracefully.

1. A lifestyle of eating healthy food and regular exercise

Eating a healthy meal comprising of fresh fruits, vegetables, lots of water, lean meat, fish etc., is an important factor in keeping the skin and hair healthy. Regular exercises like walking and other stretch up exercises also help in staying fit and healthy. Following a disciplined diet and exercising regularly is one of the core factors for ageing gracefully.

2. Avoid using too much makeup and other skin care products

One of the most important things that you will observe in women who age gracefully is that they do not use too much make-up. Throughout their life, they would have used natural and herbal skin care methods to take care of their skin and hair. Avoid using artificial chemical-laden cosmetics which do more harm to the skin and quickens the ageing process.

There are many basic skin care routines which can be followed to keep the skin healthy and soft, some of them are listed below –

  • Drink plenty of water and keep the body hydrated.
  • Eat nutritious food.
  • Wash your face regularly with water to remove dirt and grime.
  • Apply moisturizer in the night on the face, neck, hands and legs. Make this a daily routine.
  • Wear sunglasses and cover your face with a scarf while in the sun to avoid the harsh sunlight.

3. Lead a positive lifestyle by avoiding bitterness and strife

One of the main characteristics of ageing gracefully is that you tend to lead a positive lifestyle by avoiding bitterness and strife. You are easy to forgive and forget which helps in keeping your inner self i.e., your soul healthy. Once you inculcate this positive habit, it will reflect on your body as you will be more at peace with yourself.

Research has clearly indicated that a healthy mind and soul reflects in a healthy body. People who are more positive and stay away from any kind of negativity are more healthy and exude grace in their life.

4. Have a unique style and confidence

Many people who age gracefully are self-confident. They do not follow any fashion or trends or take any extra effort in wearing anything that will make them look younger. They wear what suits them and what they are comfortable with?

Further, they are ready to innovative and try hairstyles or clothes which will make them look more graceful. They also change their style with time and are ready to accept their wrinkles or grey hair. Hiding wrinkles with loads of makeup and colouring your hair completely black when your skin is wrinkled is a strict “No” for them. They will do things which are comfortable for them.

5. Good sleep is an essential part of ageing gracefully

Good sleep is an important factor in staying healthy. Once you are healthy inside, it will automatically reflect on your body, skin and hair. Lack of sleep leads to dark circles, wrinkles and other signs of ageing. Therefore if you want to look good, ensure that you get good sleep for at least 8 hours a day.

6. Do not ignore your hands and legs

Most of the time we take good care of our face but ignore our hands and legs. Many times we see women whose faces are very youthful but their hands are so neglected that they show signs of ageing. It is important to take care of your hands and legs also. The same moisturizer that you use for your face can be applied to your hands and legs as well.  This will help in keeping your skin healthy and supple.

7. Have a disciplined lifestyle and avoid in overindulging

All of us have our own weakness. Some like fatty, oily foods while others like salty or sweet foods. All these things are not good for health and so you need to stay away from such things. Once in a while, you can be indulgent but you need to be disciplined. Increasing the intake of sugar and oil leads to obesity, cholesterol etc., which makes the body unhealthy.

8. Graceful ageing brings wisdom, resilience and maturity

Once you are able to accept your age and the changes that happen in your body positively, then you will be happy with yourself. Many people see ageing as a crisis situation and so want to hide their wrinkles, grey hair etc., and want to look young.

Remember graceful ageing brings wisdom, resilience and maturity. Old people have faced many challenging situations in life and can give important life lessons to youngsters. If you are constantly fighting against your age, you will not be able to motivate and advise others. Be graceful in accepting your body changes. Share your wisdom, knowledge and experiences with others and help them to make right choices.

Finally, age is just a number. There are many old people who are well in their 90’s but still have a sharp mind, a cheerful smile and a healthy body. They are filled with gratitude and thankfulness for the number of years that God has given them. We would like to conclude that everyone will age but ageing gracefully depends entirely on yourself. We hope the above tips will help you to age gracefully.
