Cucumbers are one of the most loved fruits. This is mostly because of its immense cooling properties. They are extremely popular in summer because of its high water content and important nutrients. Cucumber belongs to the family of zucchini, pumpkin, and watermelon. There are different types of cucumbers grown in different regions of the world. The Cucumber plant is a creeping vine which has longish cylindrical fruits. It is scientifically called as Cucumis sativus.

2.Cucumber helps in managing Diabetes.

It is important to know that the glycemic index of cucumber is Zero. While carbohydrates contribute to increasing the glucose level, however, the carbohydrates present in cucumber can be easily digested in any diabetic patient. Further cucumber also helps in keeping the glucose level in control.

3. Cucumber has a lot of skin benefits.

Take 6-7 slices of cucumber and add 1tsp of yogurt, 1tbsp of fresh aloe vera gel, honey and ½ tbsp lemon juice. Mix well in a blender and apply the face pack after washing your face with water. Leave it on for about 15 minutes till its dry and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

b) Cucumber Juice for removing skin tan.

Grate one cucumber and take a clean cloth and use it to squeeze the juice of the cucumber in a small bowl. Add 1tsp of lemon juice to it. Mix it well and apply it to the face. Its mild bleaching property will help lighten the skin tone and gives a youthful glow on the skin.

4. Cucumber helps to detoxify your body.

As cucumber consists of more than 95% water, it helps in removing the toxins from the body. The water content cleanses the body by flushing out the waste from the body. Cucumber is an important ingredient in any detox diet.

5.Cucumber helps in strengthening the bones.

The high amount of Vitamin K  and silica helps in improving the bone health of the body. Silica helps in strengthening the muscles, ligaments, and bones of the body.
